Much needed entertainment on a little patch of paradise.
Context
CraySey Golf is a fun-filled crazy golf entertainment business based in the sunny Seychelles. A gap within the family-friendly entertainment market, across the Seychellois islands, was identified and with it, CraySey Golf was formed.
The long-term goal is to develop a fixed location to house the golf, food and drinks areas, ticketing etc, but for now this start-up is completely mobile. The course holes have all been constructed to be dismantled and transported around various venues throughout the Seychelles, making the business incredibly agile, and the perfect testing ground for the customer interest.
The Brief
DH was brought on to develop the brand identity for CraySey Golf. The client wanted a fun and friendly design, with nods to the Seychelles in the iconography and colour palette.
Following on from the brand identity, DH was tasked with creating some 3D representations of the different holes in the course. The images needed to be simple and clear enough for customers.
Brand
DH initially explored several options for the CraySey Golf brand identity, taking inspiration from US sports bars. It was clear that the customer wanted bold and vibrant characteristics, something that would attract the eye when the courses were located at crowded events and venues.
As the brand world came together, several assets were designed, from business cards to staff work wear, stamps to tickets. DH worked hard to provide a living, breathing brand identity, which could be utilised throughout course construction.
Graphic Design
As previously mentioned, each course hole was built with maneuverability in mind. The start-up first tested proof of concept by taking the course to existing venues, rather than making the large upfront investment of building their own venue.
The holes were designed and constructed to be placed in any arrangement and order, but for DH’s illustrations, a specific order was provided. Simple models were produced, aligning with the brand's colour palette and typography.
CraySey Golf were then able to publicise the opening of their business with the use of the course imagery.
