Insight

Chestnut Nursery Schools is one of the UK’s leading providers of high-quality, pre-school education, with nurseries based in London, Norwich, and Cambridge. They are committed to giving children the best start in life by helping them develop their intellectual, emotional and personal skills through learning and play.

Chestnut Nursery Schools Ltd. was set up in August 2002 by Steven Davies and David Saunders. They currently have over 20 schools across the country, with more on the way.

The brief

Getting started

DH were tasked with a number of graphic design and photography services, web development services, and social media management services. As projects progressed, DH also provided marketing and operational advice, to encourage sustained customer growth.

Media

Imagery

Chestnut wanted a complete photography archive of all their nursery schools. This included images of each setting, as well as the children and team in their day-to-day activities.

With 20 schools across the country, this was no small undertaking. Thousands of photos were taken and edited to align with Chestnut’s brand, generating a huge portfolio. Categorisation enabled the team to locate imagery suitable for a variety of occasions.

The platform

DH carried out a complete website overhaul, producing a new platform design based off of Chestnut’s brand identity. The website needed to increase both enquiries and conversions, and as a result lead to a greater occupancy across the business. This of course required the collaboration of social media marketing and advertising.

Social media management

Chestnut’s social media accounts lay fairly dormant and unutilised for a significant period of time. DH changed that by taking a targeted approach to their content, audience, and advertising. Geography, gender, age groups, and key interests are all crucial elements that, when analysed correctly, can drive engagement and lead to steady conversions.
